]]> Program Studi Magister Matematika (PSM MAT) Jurusan Matematika FMIPA, Universitas Lampung resmi didirikan melalui SK Dirjen Dikti No. 325/E/O/2012 tanggal 24 September 2012. Pelaksanaan program pendidikan dan penelitian di PSM MAT didukung oleh laboratorium penelitian dan dosen-dosen bergelar doktor. Kelompok Bidang Keahlian para dosen meliput Aljabar, Analisis, Matematika Terapan, Statistika, Riset Operasi, dan Teori Graf.

Karakteristik keilmuan matematika yang dikembangkan di PSM MAT adalah kombinasi unik antara tataran teoritis dan terapan untuk mengidentifikasi dan memecahkan masalah di dunia nyata (real-world problem), seperti di dunia pendidikan, industri, lingkungan, pertanian, kesehatan, sosial, dan ekonomi.
